WoW contains plenty of pop culture references (too many, some say), but none of them have crept up on me and jumped out like this one.
In the top-heavy-blue-people's start zone (and just inside the next) there's a timed messenger mission. The lord of the strange elephant things the THBPs ride wants a message delivered to three places in a hurry, so he lends you an epic mount. That's a reward you won't otherwise get until level 60, and he gives you quarter of an hour on one at level 11.
That isn't the fun part though. I didn't notice beforehand, but the area I was sent to in order to find this man was called Kessel's Crossing. That's because the elephant lord is called Kessel. The name of the mission to visit all these folks in the time limit?
