Once upon a time, I put in a plugin to track referrers. I thought I might be able to show the top ones in a table. That isn't the case without rewriting the plugin, because the one I have doesn't really do anything filtering, sorting or grouping, but I still keep the plugin running, chugging away with its little database table of almost every referred visitor I ever got.

Besides the fact that the top referrer seems to be Matt (although I really need a view that just groups things by domain), I've just had a look through and picked out a few of the more interesting search strings by which people found me. In a lot of cases regular readers may be able to guess which post they ended up at, and some may even notice that they're responsible for the text having been there ;-)

It's crazy what people put into Google at times:

  • is carl orff oh fortuna evil? - Undoubtedly. Turn it up louder.
  • evil airbrushing of women - Inner city gangs take to the streets armed with those little foot-pump&felt-pen things that were good fun a while back.
  • You couldn't DPS your way out of a paper bag - 'nuff said.
  • blood elf female in underwear - It's a little concerning that someone thought I could help with that.
  • is it normal to have a crush on someone that you haven't spoken to - Certainly. Speaking to them often ruins it.
  • dragon that don't exist - As opposed to the many millions that does.
  • dodecahedral speakers - Hoorah!
  • jo whiley rollercoaster - Chortle, chortle.
  • pussycat dolls are evil - Quite possibly.
  • Francis Urquhart like Machiavelli - Yes, and no. I hope this person got linked to a copy of the Prince.
