This Pink for October thing, combined with the resurgence of Orix, one of my friends of many comments (few of them here), has reminded me that November is nearly here, and with it NaNoWriMo.

After managing to waste last November and make so little progress that I gave up after barely half the month, I'm wondering whether to bother trying this year. I have a lot of things I'd like to write, but most of them I don't want to write in a hurry, and I'd rather write something to release straight after, which also doesn't suit the plans I've had for ages and would want to make perfect.

So, is anyone else going to do it this year? I might have a little go, I might serialise it here like Dan did last year, but I won't be as cocky about it as I was before. The last time I managed 50,000 words in a month I was unemployed on a summer away from university and really fired up to get the story down: it may be that I can't do it on demand.
