As a player of online games, I used to resent the way some games have items degrade so that I'm constantly replacing them. As a player of online games I eventually came to appreciate that this was a good catalyst for a healthy economy and good for the game, even though I still wasn't a fan personally.

As a buyer of Christmas presents, I used to avoid buying people consumables; it seemed somehow less effective as a gift if it would be quickly used up. As a buyer of Christmas presents I eventually came to appreciate that last year I'd given these people things they could use up, I might be able to get away with giving them some more of it this time...

Not sure what the purpose of the blog is any more. For writing things of interest to friends I should probably be posting on Facebook. For professional observations I should probably have a separate blog (with less obfuscation). Either way I don't really need a blogging pseudonym.

It might be that it's time to turn the lights out on QE.

Although it's not infallible, the multi-word predictive text on my phone is pretty handy. For example, from 'gi' I can get 'give me a shout if you need anything' in three keystrokes.

The moral is perhaps that I should try and cut down on tragic constructions such as 'give me a shout'...

The normal overload has given way to a frightening drought. Google Reader offers nothing unread, echofon has no new tweets, there are no new Facebook updates (yes, I'm bored enough to watch Facebook for updates), there is no new mail (not even any spam to delete). I am a little lost. I can't bring myself to start a whole new project at this time on a Saturday evening, so the day just sort of drifts away.
