So it's that time of year again. One of my domain names - the first one, the one I still use for e-mail and the like - is up for renewal.

I got an e-mail from the registrar (their reseller, rather) prompting for renewal, although with no detail on how to pay. I go to log into the website and none of my details work. I contact support, and apparently I don't have a customer account...

Besides the acronyms/initialisms debate (which I was almost inclined to care about until I noticed that at least one dictionary allows acronyms that aren't pronounced as words in their own right, and nobody seems to use initalisms anyway) acronyms seem to be something open to huge abuse.

This is the default file to be served by a fresh installation of the Apache 2.2 Debian package:
It works!

Previous versions of that Debian package have had lengthy affairs with lots of logos, explaining to end users why the screen might appear. This one doesn't bother with any of that: the simplicity with which it tells me exactly what I need to know about my new web server had me laughing out loud.

Mouse working quicker than brain - even through confirmation dodads - has led to a post mysteriously disappearing. The wonders of the Google cache and some quick cutting and pasting have put it back. I'm not going to fix its item number, which is higher than it should be; I really doubt anyone has linked to it.
